Rep. Goodwin Responds to Governor Evers’ Decision Not to Seek Re-Election
MADISON – Today, State Representative Russell Goodwin (D‑Milwaukee) released the following statement in response to Governor Tony Evers’ announcement last week that he will not seek a third term:
“I’m deeply grateful for the concrete progress Wisconsin has seen under his leadership from supporting schools and investing in small businesses to rebuilding our roads and navigating crises with steady resolve. He consistently put people over politics, and did the right thing with intelligence, humility, and integrity.
Although I was looking forward to collaborating with him for another four years, I celebrate the legacy he leaves and the example he set for the future leadership of Wisconsin. His calm presence, dedication to every Wisconsinite, and commitment to thoughtful governance will continue to inspire.
Thank you, Governor Evers, for building a stronger, kinder Wisconsin. Your service and spirit will endure.”
Rep. Goodwin represents Wisconsin’s 12th Assembly District and looks forward to continuing to serve and honor the values embodied by Governor Evers’ leadership.
