By - Feb 28th, 2025 03:47 pm

On Monday, March 3, the candidates for District 7 of the Milwaukee Board of School Directors will participate in a candidate forum where area residents and Milwaukee Public Schools parents can ask questions. The forum is hosted by the White Manor / Lyons Park neighborhood group and will take place from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Audubon School, 3300 S. 39th St. The forum will be moderated by Gerron Jordan from WISN 12.

Alderman Peter Burgelis, whose Aldermanic District includes MPS District 7, is encouraging residents to attend the forum to learn more about the candidates prior to the April election. “We’ve seen in recent months that school board directors are critically important positions. I urge residents to gather as much info as they can prior to casting a vote April 1, 2025. The candidate forum Monday is a great opportunity to do just that,” he said.

Milwaukee Public School District 7 includes all of Burgelis’ 11th Aldermanic District and parts of District 10 (Ald. Sharlen Moore), District 8 (Ald. JoCasta Zamarripa), and District 13 (Ald. Scott Spiker). A map of MPS District 7 can be found here.
