Senator Drake and Representative Goodwin to Introduce Legislation to Increase Technological Innovation and Provide Crypto-Currency Education for Entrepreneurs & Small Businesses
MILWAUKEE, WI – Today Senator Dora Drake and State Representative Russell Goodwin announced they will be introducing legislation and meeting with state lawmakers to increase technological innovation and provide crypto-currency education for entrepreneurs and small businesses at the Ambition Center MKE with notable tech experts and entrepreneurs.
This bill will establish a financial services program in the Department of Financial Institutions to allow temporary testing of innovative financial products or services with an amended licensing process. This legislation will also require the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to conduct a pilot project that includes:
- Education to Wisconsinites on Cryptocurrency
- Education and assistance for Wisconsin Businesses in implementing cryptocurrency as an accepted method of payment for goods and services
- Provide assistance to entrepreneurs in establishing or growing cryptocurrency related businesses
