MILWAUKEE – Thursday, February 6th – On Saturday, March 1st at 7:00 pm, Milwaukee Film’s historic Oriental Theatre will welcome special guests director Joshua Oppenheimer and Milwaukee native composer Joshua Schmidt alongside their new film The End for a post-screening Q&A.

“One of the greatest thrills of my artistic life was writing The End‘s songs with Milwaukee’s native genius, Josh Schmidt,” expressed Joshua Oppenheimer. “The pandemic forced us to work remotely, with me at home in Scandinavia and Schmidt in his Milwaukee studio, yet it was a collaboration of profoundest intimacy and grace, and I’ve been looking forward to bringing the film to his family, friends, and wider community ever since we began writing it. The End‘s Milwaukee premiere is a true homecoming,” he concluded.

From Academy Award®-nominated director and Milwaukee Film Festival alum Joshua Oppenheimer comes a poignant and deeply human musical about a family that survived the end of the world. An urgent and unforgettable cautionary tale, The End stars Tilda Swinton, Michael Shannon, George MacKay, and Moses Ingram. The screenplay is by Oppenheimer and Rasmus Heisterberg, with songs by Milwaukee native Joshua Schmidt (music) and Oppenheimer (lyrics).

All Tickets and showtimes can be found online at mkefilm.org/comingsoon.
