Milwaukee, WI — December 18, 2024 — Bublr Bikes, Milwaukee’s premier bike-share program, is thrilled to announce a remarkable increase in Access Pass rides in 2024, showcasing the continued success and growing popularity of the program. The data reveals a notable upward trend in the use of Access Passes, which provide free annual passes for individuals who may face financial barriers to transportation.

In 2024, Bublr Bikes recorded an impressive 66% increase in Access Pass ridership compared to 2023, with over 15,000 rides taken on the program. This marks a remarkable growth from 2022, when the Access Pass saw only 488 rides. This growth highlights not only the effectiveness of Bublr’s mission to provide equitable access to bike-sharing, but also the increasing demand for affordable, environmentally friendly transportation options in Milwaukee.

“We are incredibly excited to see such a significant rise in the number of Access Pass rides,” said Bublr Bikes Executive Director, Laura Bolger. “This growth reflects the positive impact of the program and how it has become an essential transportation tool for many Milwaukee County residents. We remain committed to expanding access and ensuring that every Milwaukeean has the opportunity to benefit from a healthier, greener, and more affordable mode of transportation.”

The Access Pass program, which was introduced in 2016, provides individuals who qualify for government assistance programs with discounted rates for Bublr Bikes. The pass offers unlimited 60-minute rides, helping users get around Milwaukee more easily while also promoting a healthier lifestyle and reducing their carbon footprint.

The 2024 increase in Access Pass ridership comes as Bublr Bikes continues to expand its network, adding new bike stations and increasing bike availability throughout Greater Milwaukee. With the continued support of the City of Milwaukee, community partners, generous donors, and riders, Bublr Bikes is poised to achieve even greater success in the years to come.
