MILWAUKEE— Daniel Bauman, a community leader and marketing professional, has officially announced his candidacy for Milwaukee’s Common Council, District 3.

Bauman brings experience in public service and community development to his campaign. He served as a Staff Assistant in the Mayor’s Office, focusing on reckless driving prevention, equitable neighborhood growth, and sustainable solutions for Milwaukee. Prior to that he was Deputy Campaign Manager for the mayor’s successful run in 2022.

“Milwaukee is a city full of opportunity and resilience, but it’s also a city facing significant challenges,” said Bauman. “We need leadership that listens, collaborates, and takes action to make our streets safer, our neighborhoods stronger, and our future more sustainable and equitable. I’m running for Common Council to ensure every voice is heard and every resident has the chance to thrive.”

Bauman’s candidacy has already garnered key endorsements, including from Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, who highlighted Bauman’s leadership and dedication.

“Daniel Bauman has the vision and determination to create real change for Milwaukee,” said Mayor Johnson. “I’ve worked alongside Daniel and seen his passion for tackling the toughest issues, from reckless driving to community development. His leadership on the Common Council will benefit residents across the district and the city as a whole.”

Diana Vang-Brostoff, widow of the late Alderman Jonathan Brostoff, also expressed her strong support for Bauman’s campaign.

“Daniel Bauman’s dedication to our community is unmatched,” said Vang-Brostoff. “He has the experience, the heart, and the vision to continue Jonathan’s work and to fight for a Milwaukee that works for everyone.”

Bauman’s campaign will focus on core priorities, including public safety, equitable growth, sustainability, and stronger public services. As someone born and raised in Sherman Park, and a proud graduate of Rufus King High School, Daniel Bauman developed a strong commitment to the city’s neighborhoods, its people, and its potential.

“Milwaukee’s strength is in its people,” said Bauman. “I believe in building bridges across our community to solve problems and create a better future for everyone.”
