Children’s Wisconsin named among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report

MILWAUKEE, Wis., Oct. 8, 2024 — Today, Children’s Wisconsin was recognized as a 2024-2025 Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report. Ranked as the number one pediatric hospital in Wisconsin and among the best in the nation in eight pediatric specialties, Children’s Wisconsin is the only health system in Wisconsin with the depth of services to achieve this level of recognition by the U.S. News & World Report for pediatric specialty care.

The Children’s Wisconsin specialties ranked by the U.S. News & World Report include Cancer, Diabetes & Endocrine, Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Nephrology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health, Pulmonology and Urology.

New this year, the survey included questions regarding mental and behavioral health services, and Children’s Wisconsin ranked in the Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health specialty.

U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Children’s Hospitals evaluation empowers parents and caregivers with a data-driven guide to help them find the best pediatric hospital to treat their child,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News.

The annual rankings recognize the top pediatric facilities across the United States, and assist parents, caregivers and physicians in choosing the best possible care for children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs.

U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research and consulting firm, collected and analyzed data from 108 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children’s hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care and expert opinion among pediatric specialists.
