Public Works Committee to review communication from DPW on street light grid repair and replacement
At its meeting TOMORROW – Wednesday, May 8 – the Public Works Committee will review a communication by the Department of Public Works regarding the Department’s plans to repair and replace broken street lights in areas across the city that have been hit hardest by the outages.
Alderwoman Coggs once again stressed the importance of ensuring that city residents’ concerns about street lighting are being heard and that concrete steps are being taken by DPW to fix the outages throughout the city.
“Making sure that our city’s street lights are in working order and are receiving all necessary updates and repairs is the least the City of Milwaukee and DPW can do to provide for the safety and well-being of our communities,” said Alderwoman Coggs.
Alderwoman Coggs said she looks forward to discussing the issue and hearing DPW’s plans to repair street light outages at tomorrow’s Public Works Committee meeting and noted that she hopes an adequate plan and funding will be forthcoming.
Wednesday’s committee meeting will start at 9:00 a.m. in room 301-B at City Hall, 200 E. Wells St., and will be televised live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at www.city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
