Supervisor Steve F. Taylor Appointed by Gov. Scott Walker to Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership Council

Milwaukee County Supervisor Steve F. Taylor has been appointed to the Milwaukee Child Welfare Partnership Council by Gov. Scott Walker.

“I am honored that Gov. Walker has chosen me to represent Milwaukee County in this capacity,” Taylor said. “It is our responsibility to protect our children and I look forward to collaborating with fellow members of the Council to seek better opportunities for our children to be safe and successful.”

In his letter to Taylor Walker said, “Your experience, knowledge, and dedication will be a true asset to my administration and a great benefit to the people of Wisconsin. I look forward to working with you to find innovative ways of delivering services and implementing positive change for the citizens of our state.”

The Council recommends policies and plans for the improvement of the child welfare system in Milwaukee County, and recommends measures for evaluating the effectiveness of the child welfare system in Milwaukee County. It is also responsible for identifying innovative public and private funding opportunities for the child welfare system in Milwaukee County, as well as submitting its recommendations with respect to those funding opportunities. The Council also advises the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in planning and technical assistance to support a neighborhood-based system of delivery of child welfare services within the County.
