Aspirus Infectious Disease welcomes Johonna Asquith, MD
WAUSAU, Wis. – Aspirus Infectious Disease is pleased to welcome Johonna Asquith, MD.
Dr. Asquith is a board-eligible infectious disease physician and board-certified internal medicine doctor. She earned her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She began her medical career in an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Asquith continued on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus and then an infectious disease fellowship at University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Asquith has special interests in antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention, HIV, and infections in bones, wounds, and heart valves.
“Medicine is not a one-size-fits-all. I strive to provide the best possible patient care with my individual patient in mind,” said Dr. Asquith.
Dr. Asquith is a member of Infectious Disease Society of America, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association.
During her leisure time, Dr. Asquith enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and crafting.
