Aspirus Heart Care Expands Services to Aspirus Divine Savior in Portage

Portage, WI – Aspirus Heart Care is pleased to announce that cardiology services have been expanded to Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital & Clinics with the addition of board-certified cardiologist Dr. Walter Kao.
“At Aspirus Health, we believe in providing as much healthcare locally as reasonably possible. That is why we are so pleased to bring heart care services to the community,” said Aspirus Divine Savior President Michael Decker.
Dr. Kao earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medicine – Cornell University in New York City, NY., his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Kao specializes in diagnosing, monitoring and treating diseases and conditions of the heart. He believes in practicing preventative medicine, helping patients maintain a heart healthy diet. Dr. Kao has also co-authored several cardiology studies.
Dr. Kao’s special interests include heart failure and cardiomyopathy. “I make every effort to combine the art and science of medicine to achieve the best results for my patients,” states Kao.
Dr. Kao has more than 30 years of experience and has been affiliated with several hospitals including University of Wisconsin Hospital and SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital – Madison.
