Foxconn Announces Higher Education Recruiting Effort with “Foxconn Day” at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
Second annual “Foxconn Day” features one-on-one access to Foxconn recruiters and student-oriented Foxconn Tech Talks on Industrial 5G Networks and High-Performance Computing
Milwaukee, WI – Foxconn Technology Group (Foxconn), in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Engineering & Applied Science, today announced the second annual “Foxconn Day” to be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at the UW-Milwaukee Engineering and Mathematical Sciences Building. The full-day event will provide UW-Milwaukee undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to meet with Foxconn recruiters and staff. In addition, attendees can look forward to a series of “Foxconn Tech Talks” at the event, where they can learn more about how Foxconn technologies will contribute to the marketplace in Wisconsin.
Foxconn Tech Talks, a series of conversations with academic and business partners, was introduced last month. It was created with the intention to inform stakeholders about the implementation of Foxconn technologies across industry clusters such as smart manufacturing, health care, security and high-performance computing. Interested students can register for an exclusive session hosted by Brand Cheng, Foxconn Industrial Internet CEO, and Dr. Taiyu Chou, Foxconn Industrial Internet CTO, who will share more on Industrial 5G Networks and High-Performance Computing, respectively, on Foxconn Day. Foxconn sees the significant potential in Wisconsin’s dedicated workforce – a clear choice supported by a second-to-none higher education system.
“We are proud to provide global industry leaders like Foxconn with tomorrow’s workforce,” said Dr. Brett Peters, Dean of the UWM College of Engineering & Applied Science. “The success of the 2019 UWM/Foxconn/Chung Yuan Christian University International Engineering Co-op Program demonstrates our students’ abilities to excel in the high-tech and advanced manufacturing areas where Foxconn seeks talent.”
Students, faculty and alumni of UW-Milwaukee interested in attending the event are invited to visit the Engineering and Mathematical Sciences Building from 10:00am – 4:00pm on Wednesday, Sept. 25. Attendees interested in joining Foxconn are encouraged to bring their resumes. They can also visit foxconnjobs.us to learn more about specific employment opportunities.
