German Fest Arrives with Summer’s Midpoint
MCTS Freeway Flyers, Downtown Shuttle and Local Routes Deliver Guests
MILWAUKEE (July 24, 2019) — Celebrate summer’s halfway point with family and friends at German Fest, July 26-28! Thanks to MCTS’s Freeway Flyers, the Downtown Shuttle and Local Routes, festivalgoers can go directly to German Fest quickly with low round-trip fares.
Bus service to German Fest will operate the following hours:
- Friday, July 26 – 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Saturday, July 27 – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
- Sunday, July 28 – 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
FREEWAY FLYERS
MCTS runs special Freeway Flyers to German Fest, picking up at four Park-Ride lots and dropping off at the Mid Gate of Henry Maier Festival Park. Service runs approximately every 30 minutes.
Festival-goers can catch a Freeway Flyer from the following park-ride lots:
- Brown Deer East – Brown Deer Road, west of I-43
- College – College Avenue, at I-94, north and south lots
- State Fair Park – I-94, S. 76th and W. Kearney Streets

DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE
The German Fest Downtown Shuttle stops along Wisconsin Avenue between N. 6th Street and N. Jackson Street and goes directly to the Mid Gate of the festival grounds. Riders can look for bus stops marked with the Summerfest smile logo. The Shuttle runs approximately every 30 minutes.

Riders must pay the full amount of fare when boarding the Freeway Flyer or Downtown Shuttle. Exact fare is required. This fare is for a roundtrip to and from German Fest. On the Shuttle and Freeway Flyer, U-PASS (summer semester only), GO Pass, Freedom Pass and Commuter Value Pass are also accepted as full fare.
LOCAL ROUTES
Not coming from downtown or a park-ride lot? No problem. Routes 14, 15, GreenLine and GoldLine all drop you off within walking distance of Henry Maier Festival Park. Regular fares apply.
