Lame Duck Appointees Gave Walker $16,000
One-fifth of 82 lame duck appointees by governor donated to his failed campaign.

About 1 in 5 appointees by outgoing Republican Gov. Scott Walker to state councils and boards who were approved by the state Senate last week contributed more than $16,000 to the governor’s campaign.
Eighty-two appointments, which were made to dozens of policy, licensing, disciplinary, advisory, and other boards for terms ranging from two to six years, were confirmed during a lame-duck session by the GOP-controlled legislature. Walker lost his reelection bid last month to Democrat Tony Evers, who will be sworn in Jan. 7.
Topping the list of those appointees who contributed to Walker were:
Robert Gorsuch, of Fitchburg, $3,725. Gorsuch, founder and chief executive officer of Oak Bank, was appointed to the Banking Review Board.
Scott Beightol, of Wales, $2,800. Beightol, an attorney with Michael Best & Friedrich, was appointed to the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents.
Matthew Bistan, of Sheboygan, $2,000. Bistan, a dentist, was appointed to the Dentistry Examining Board.
Marc Eernisse, of Port Washington, $1,600. Eernisse, president of Eernisse Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, was appointed to the Funeral Directors Examining Board.
Thomas Richie, of Rice Lake, $1,000. Richie, a founder of Real Estate Solutions, was appointed to the Real Estate Examining Board.
