Children’s Hospital president and CEO Troy goes ‘On the Issues’ at Marquette Law School
Troy leads a billion-dollar health system that is dedicated to children and employs nearly 5,000 people throughout the state.
MILWAUKEE — Peggy Troy, the president and chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital and Health System, will be the featured guest in an upcoming “On the Issues with Mike Gousha,” Thursday, April 20, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at Marquette University Law School’s Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.
As a student in Marquette’s College of Nursing, Troy served as a nurse intern at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She has been involved in pediatric medicine ever since. Today, Troy leads a billion-dollar health system that is dedicated to children and employs nearly 5,000 people throughout the state.
While Children’s is best known for its treatment of sick kids, its mission is much larger. As Troy puts it, “we want the children of Wisconsin to be the healthiest in the nation.” During her visit to the Law School, Troy will discuss her health system’s vision, jarring health disparities in the city of Milwaukee, developments surrounding the nation’s health care law, and alternatives to the way health care is delivered today.
Gousha, an award-winning broadcast journalist, is the Law School’s distinguished fellow in law and public policy. His “On the Issues” series of conversations with newsmakers supports Marquette Law School’s commitment to serve as a modern-day public square for the city of Milwaukee, the state of Wisconsin and beyond.
Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, debates featuring candidates in significant political races, Gousha’s “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars and conferences on significant issues of public importance, the Law School serves as the region’s leading venue for serious civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
The event is open to the public at no cost; registration is required and is available online.
