Special job and info session set for next week
The event will provide important information about carpenter apprentice, carpenter helper, laborer apprentice and other skilled construction trades positions.
With job opportunities arriving with the new Pete’s Fruit Market that is set to open soon in the heart of Bronzeville at N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. and W. North Ave., YWCA Southeast Wisconsin will be hosting a job and information session on Tuesday, August 30, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at 1915 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., according to Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs.
The event – hosted by Pete’s Fruit Market, Vangard Group, JCP Construction, and Athena Communications – will provide important information about carpenter apprentice, carpenter helper, laborer apprentice and other skilled construction trades positions.
Alderwoman Coggs said the neighbors made it clear during the past few years that the location should house a grocery store, and those wishes were honored. “And now we have the opportunity for people in the neighborhood to be a part of building this new Pete’s Fruit Market grocery store,” she said. “We have come full circle in a positive way for the betterment of Bronzeville and the community.”
Alderwoman Coggs said interested residents should make plans to attend. “This is a chance to see what trades-related openings might be available at this location, and anyone looking for work or looking to change jobs should make plans to attend,” she said. –
