Local Mayors & Village Presidents endorse DA John Chisholm

MILWAUKEE – This morning, seven mayors and village presidents from across Milwaukee County announced their endorsement of Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm. Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi, Glendale Mayor Brian Kennedy, West Allis Mayor Dan Devine, St. Francis Mayor CoryAnn St. Marie-Carls, Cudahy Mayor John Hohenfeldt, South Milwaukee Mayor Erik Brooks, and Shorewood Village President Guy Johnson joined Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in endorsing Chisholm.

“John Chisholm is an honest, straightforward leader who is totally dedicated to keeping our communities safe,” said Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi. “I have worked closely with John, and I know that he is a man of integrity and a leader in reforming our justice system.”

Glendale Mayor Brian Kennedy echoed Scaffidi’s praise for Chisholm. “John’s progressive leadership has made our justice system fairer. I have complete confidence in John to continue making the tough calls necessary to keep our neighborhoods safe and healthy.”

West Allis Mayor Dan Devine joined Scaffidi and Kennedy in endorsing Chisholm. “Milwaukee County is lucky to have a District Attorney like John,” said Devine. “John is sincerely committed to the well-being of our citizens. I am proud to support John for reelection.”

“I am thankful for the endorsements of these outstanding civic leaders,” said Chisholm. “I have a long record of supporting our municipal governments, through community prosecution and innovative efforts to keep our neighborhoods safe. When first elected, I made a commitment to serve all the citizens of our community. I am honored to work alongside such effective local leaders to accomplish this goal.”

Chisholm, a veteran of the U.S. Army, was born in Milwaukee and is a graduate of Marquette University High School, Marquette University, and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He lives in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood with his wife, Colleen, and teenage son, Ted.

The Democratic primary election is August 9, 2016.
