Ald. Coggs invites residents to Garfield Avenue Blues, Jazz, Gospel & Arts Festival

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites residents to the 19th Annual Garfield Avenue Blues, Jazz, Gospel & Arts Festival in the Bronzeville neighborhood this weekend.
The festival takes place TOMORROW (Saturday, July 16), from noon until 8:00 p.m., on W. Garfield Avenue from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to N. 7th Street. The opening ceremony will commence at noon at the main stage, featuring appearances by local elected officials and members of the community.
With a full day of family-friendly entertainment planned, special performances will include the band “Untitled,” “Valerie B and the Boys” and “Jazzy Jewels.” Local musicians will entertain crowds from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the 6th Street stage, and more than 100 vendors will be set up along the festival corridor.
The event is free and open to the public. Sponsors include Cricket Wireless, the Herzfeld Foundation, Northcott Neighborhood House, Gruber Law Offices and more.
