The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) announced it will increase bus service along a handful of routes running to downtown Milwaukee for the Brewers’ World Series victory parade Friday.

MCTS will run extra buses along five routes that can drop riders within blocks of the parade route: Connect 1, GreenLine, Route 12, Route 18 and Route 57.

“With hundreds of thousands of fans expected to line the streets for a victory parade on Friday, limited downtown parking and road closures along the parade route, taking the bus can help fans avoid the search for parking and focus on celebrating the new World Series champions,” MCTS said in a statement Thursday.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. Friday at the intersection of W. Wisconsin and N. Vel R. Phillips avenues. It will run briefly in a semicircle along N. Jefferson Street, E. Mason Street, and N. Jackson Street to pass the Bob Uecker mural before turning left onto E. Chicago Street and running into Henry Maier Festival Park.

Bus fare is $2.75 and MCTS offers contactless payment with credit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Riders can also use the traditional WisGo Card or download the UMO app on their digital device. The latter hosts MCTS’s mobile app for fare payment, route navigation and live tracking of buses.

Riders will want to use the MCTS website to see the detour for their selected route before heading Downtown.

The Milwaukee Brewers are also offering shuttles from American Family Field for $5 per rider. Timed tickets are required to be pre-purchased.
