Milwaukee Film’s Collaborative Cinema
The project gives students and emerging film professionals the opportunity to develop their skills with the aid of a professional crew.

Ever wonder what it takes to bring an idea from paper to the silver screen? Milwaukee Film’s Collaborative Cinema project shows high school students, college students and emerging film professionals how to do just that.
This year’s production, The Vampire Formerly Known as Dracula, was written by Milwaukee High School for the Arts freshman Ian Walls (seen in the video wearing a bright green shirt) and directed by recent MATC graduate Nathaniel Schardin (seen in the video wearing a black cap, the word “director” on it). After attending several workshops hosted by Collaborative Cinema, they are supplied with a professional crew and equipment to bring their vision to fruition.Watch ThirdCoast’s exclusive behind the scenes video to see how a professional film crew operates in Milwaukee. Then, be sure to watch the final cut of The Vampire Formerly Known as Dracula in The Milwaukee Show, at the 2012 Milwaukee Film Festival, on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Oriental Theatre. Visit Milwaukee Film’s Collaborative Cinema page to get involved with next year’s production, and to find out more about the program’s screenwriting programs and filmmaking workshops.
