Gov. Evers Orders Flags to Half-Staff in Honor of Eau Claire Fire Department Firefighter Bryce A. Jungbluth
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers signed Executive Order #302, ordering the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff on Mon., Aug. 10, 2026, in honor of Eau Claire Fire Department firefighter Bryce A. Jungbluth, who, following a sudden medical emergency, passed away in the line of duty on July 31, 2026, at the age of 27.
“Firefighter Bryce Jungbluth was dedicated to helping and protecting others, and Kathy and I share our deepest condolences with his family, including his wife and son, his friends, loved ones, and his many colleagues at the Eau Claire Fire Department, as well as the Carrboro Fire-Rescue Department,” said Gov Evers. “We join the state of Wisconsin and the communities of Eau Claire and Hayward as they mourn the loss of a dedicated public servant. His passing leaves behind a void in the lives of all who had the privilege of working and serving alongside him.”
From Hayward, Wisconsin, Jungbluth proudly served the Carrboro Fire-Rescue Department in Carrboro, North Carolina, for four years before joining the Eau Claire Fire Department in June 2026. He is survived by his wife, Emma, and their nine-month-old son, Hayes.
Services for Jungbluth will be held on Mon., Aug. 10, 2026, in Hayward. Executive Order #302 will be in effect from sunrise to sunset on Mon., Aug. 10, 2026.
