75th Annual Holiday Folk Fair
So many nationalities, so much entertainment, so much culture and good food.
The 75th annual Holiday Folk Fair International celebrated the cultures of more than 50 ethnic groups over the weekend. It was a remarkable gathering of all these nationalities listed at the fair’s website.
The highlight was the ensemble dances in the All Nations Theater. From the high-flying stunts of the Scandinavians to the flowing dresses and clashing swords of the Mexican Dance Academy, there was plenty to wow audiences.
The fair was home to many more special exhibits and displays. Food stands lined the State Fair Park Exposition Center, offering cookies, drinks and meals from many of the cultures featured at the fair. Heritage Lane let guests stroll past different exhibits all providing a window into different cultures. In the middle of the fair was the Dirty Kettle Native American display complete with an authentic teepee visitors could walk into and check out. The 2018 refugee exhibit captured the struggles and achievements of refugees from Rohingya.
These were just a few of the many interesting exhibits. Our photos capture the action.

The International Folk Fair is quite possibly the greatest of all the cultural fairs in Mighty Milwaukee. It is truly amazing to see so many cultures united under one roof each year, with this year representing the 75th anniversary of the Folk Fair. Our family looks forward to this event each year!
