TCD Pick: August: Osage County
If you’ve snagged tickets to this already, nice work. If not, get ready to rush this cinematic adaptation of Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play about an Oklahoma family whose many problems are all dragged into the light of day after the family’s patriarch goes missing. The story itself is a knockout; the cast puts it over the top, a who’s-who of modern cinema led by Julia Roberts and the incomparable Meryl Streep. And if you do miss it, take comfort: the film’s set for mainstream release this Christmas. You’ll just be able to brag to all your friends for two months if you see it here first.
