Water Accelerator Center

Walker's Point will soon be home to the Water Accelerator Center.

By - Aug 17th, 2012 05:10 pm

The Milwaukee Water Council recently began a $22 million renovation of a seven-story warehouse in Walker’s Point.  When renovations are complete the center will be home to companies and organizations involved in water-related research and business development. Future tenants will include Badger Meter, A.O. Smith Corp., Violia Water, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The greater vision for the Water Accelerator Center and the neighboring Reed Street Yards property calls for the development of water research park that would draw business from around the world.  To help in the branding of the area, The City of Milwaukee is holding a contest to rename Pittsburgh Avenue.
