My initial reaction is that the field and garage are unique, smart use of the land, people friendly, and green. My suggestion is that the field be expanded a bit on two sides so that bleachers or stands can be built in to allow people to see the games. The drawings don’t tell us where the audience watching the soccer match or rugby or other sport can sit and cheer their team on. Secondly, I would like to see a better access route for the public to get to the field. Perhaps it is back against the slope of the hill at the Kern Center. This is a very positive way that land can be reclaimed and used in a very smart and friendly manner. Autos are not going away so the garage makes sense, and athletes need places to do their sport in the heart of the downtown, and having both in the same area is very creative and well thought out. I hope the County and City will move quickly on this proposal. “Go Raiders!”
