Freddy and the Freeloaders at Kiko’s

On Saturday, August 1, legendary Milwaukee soul band Freddie and the Freeloaders performed one of just a handful of reunion shows since 1970 at Kiko’s Show Lounge at 91st and Bluemound. Lead singer (and lumber baron) Fred Bliffert leads the band with Peter Roller on lead guitar and Warren Wiegratz at the head of the horn section. All reports from this performance indicate a sweaty night of vintage dance-mania. Photographer Art Elkon was there.
