Don your party hats, lace up your bowling shoes, enjoy the blues, swing with the best big bands, chow down on chili and feast on BBQ to help WMSE celebrate its 35th anniversary throughout the year.

WMSE starts singing the blues on Friday, March 25 when they host legends The Siegel–Schwall Band at the Turner Hall Ballroom with hometown icons The R&B Cadets. This will be Siegel-Schwall’s first show of the year in Milwaukee and R&B Cadets first show since last year’s sold-out Shank Hall performance. Pre-sale for WMSE listeners starts on Friday, Jan 8 at 3 p.m. Please use the passcode wmse35 when purchasing tickets from the Turner Hall Box Office. The station prides itself on giving listeners the best blues programming on the planet and is thrilled to present this incredible night of music.

Other events happening in March include:

  • 14th annual Rockabilly Chili Fundraiser on Sunday, March 6, at the MSOE Kern Center with more than 50 area venues competing to be the chili champions
  • 2nd annual WMSE Rock-N-Roll Bowl on Sunday, March 20, at the Bay View Bowl, featuring live music and WMSE DJs manning the decks
  • An evening of local music videos curated by the WMSE team at the Oriental Theatre on Wednesday, March 23

“These are just a few of the events we’re hosting throughout the year so stay tuned for more announcements including a top-secret alternative/punk show and a Local/Live music review,” said Tom Crawford, WMSE station manager. “On top of that we will continue to bring you the events you love— Backyard BBQ, The Record Ruckus and The Big Band Grandstand with Dewey Gill—all celebrating 35 years of anti-establishment, community-powered radio in Milwaukee.”
