From Saturday’s Green Fair and Green Furniture at the MAM

We profiled the current Green Furniture Design exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum last week on TCD. Here, we follow up with a look at Saturday’s Green Fair hosted by the Chipstone Foundation.

Local vendors and non-profit groups like Outpost Natural Foods, Chartreuse, Rebel Green and Rishi Tea were on hand in the museum’s Baumgartner Galleria to meet guests, while demonstrations took place in Windhover Hall.

Before the afternoon symposium, many of the speakers could be found on the lower level of the main museum checking out chairs made from newspaper and dirt. But one of the greatest draws was guest curator Hongtao Zhou, who made frozen furniture from a few reeds, snow and lake water. A few adventurous kids even joined in.
