WLAX Travels to Eastern Michigan Friday for Regular Season Finale

Golden Eagles and Eagles first draw is at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN+

The Marquette University women’s lacrosse team travels to Eastern Michigan on Friday, April 25 at 11 a.m. CT for its regular season finale. ESPN+ has the broadcast.

Marquette and Eastern Michigan have met twice before with the Golden Eagles leading the series, 2-0.

The Golden Eagles have made two trips to the state of Michigan already this season, winning at Central Michigan in the season opener on Feb. 12 and falling to then No. 8 Michigan on Feb. 23.

Marquette earns a spot in the 2025 BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Tournament with a Georgetown win at UConn on Saturday, April 26.

BIRELEY AMONG NCAA LEADERS ON OFFENSE
• Meg Bireley is first in the BIG EAST and 12th in the nation with 58 goals on the season.
• The senior attacker is first in the conference and 12th nationally averaging over a hat trick per game at 3.87 goals per outing.
• Bireley is first in the nation at 10.33 shots per game and third at 7.20 shots on goal per game.

GOLDEN EAGLES OFFENSE SOARING
• Marquette is fourth in the BIG EAST and 31st in the nation at 13.67 goals per game.
• The Golden Eagles are 21st in the nation in shots per game (32.67), 29th in points per game (20.33) and 30th in assists per game (6.67).

DEFENSE AMONG NATION’S BEST IN CAUSING TURNOVERS
• Marquette is second in the BIG EAST and 13th in the nation causing 10.47 turnovers a game.
• The Golden Eagles have four players who have 16-or-more CTs on the season in Hanna Bodner (20), Mary Velner (18), Lily Dietrich (18) and Taylor Kotschevar (16).
• MU is ninth in the nation at 19.13 ground balls per game.

BIRELEY FIRST IN PROGRAM HISTORY TO 200 GOALS, 250 CAREER POINTS
• Senior attacker Meg Bireley has 202 career goals and 254 career points in 69 career games with 51 starts for the Golden Eagles.
• Bireley is one of six active players with 200+ career goals and one of 14 active players with 250+ career points.

OSBURN 100+ CAREER GOALS
• Junior attacker Tess Osburn became the ninth player in program history to score 100 goals in their career on Saturday at Georgetown.
• Osburn opened up the scoring with her 100th goal of her career and finished with a career-high six goals.

BODNER CAREER YEAR
• Senior midfielder Hanna Bodner has registered career-highs in points (9), goals (8), assists (4), ground balls (6), draw controls (6) and caused turnovers (3) in the first 13 games this season.
• Bodner is a four-time BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week honoree this season and has 53 points this year (43g, 10a) after having 27 points total her first three years.
