Golden Eagles coming off 16-5 win at Butler
The Marquette University women’s lacrosse team hosts Arizona State on Tuesday at noon CT at Valley Fields. The game will be broadcast on FloCollege with Scott Sudikoff (play-by-play) and Eric Simon (analyst) on the call.
BODNER NAMED BIG EAST MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
• Hanna Bodner earned BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week honors on Monday.
• In Marquette’s 16-5 win at Butler, Bodner had three goals, one assist, one ground ball, one caused turnover and three draw controls.
BIRELEY ALL-TIME GOALS LEADER AT MARQUETTE
• Meg Bireley opened up the scoring on Saturday at Butler with her 176th goal of her career to pass Grace Gabriel (2016-19) for the most career goals in program history.
• The senior passed Shea Garcia (220 points, 2019-23) for the most points in Marquette program history on Sunday and has 229 for her career (181g, 48a)
• Bireley is the all-time points leader (229), goals leader (181), shots leader (437) and shots on goal leader (322).
BIRELEY AMONG NCAA LEADERS ON OFFENSE
• Meg Bireley is first in the BIG EAST and 11th in the nation with 37 goals on the season.
• The senior attacker is first in the conference and seventh nationally averaging over a hat trick per game at 4.11 goals per outing.
• Bireley is first in the nation at 11.44 shots per game.
