Madison, WI – After Tony Evers’ veto of Legislature Republicans’ bill to address the growing labor crisis in Wisconsin by joining the dozens of states who have already opted out of additional federal unemployment benefits, the Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following statement from Chairman Andrew Hitt:

“Tony Evers is putting Wisconsin businesses and ultimately Wisconsin jobs at risk even as small business owners have been begging him to address the workforce shortage that has reached crisis level under his watch. After businesses suffered during the pandemic, made worse by Evers’ crippling lockdowns, the governor is showing he doesn’t care about Wisconsin families.”
