WisGOP Statement on Joe Biden’s Address

By - Apr 28th, 2021 08:02 pm

[Madison, WI] – Ahead of Joe Biden’s address to Congress tonight, the Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following statement from Chairman Andrew Hitt:

“Wisconsinites want to hear Joe Biden explain how he will resolve the border crisis, why he is hitting Americans with a $2 trillion tax hike while our economy is still recovering, who will pay for his billions of dollars in pork spending under the guise of COVID-19 relief and where the new jobs are that were promised after he destroyed the livelihoods of hundreds of Wisconsin workers. Unfortunately, Joe Biden would rather peddle out-of-touch policies that serve the far-left and burden taxpayers with more debt than answer the questions that matter to Wisconsin families. Joe Biden’s first 100 days in office have made the importance of electing Republicans in 2022 clearer than ever.”

I wish the Wisconsin GOP had waited until after hearing the speech to release their critique. I also wish they had been a little more open about where the might be able to compromise with the elected president. As a Wisconsin citizen and active voter, I am tired of obstructionism. I want legislation that moves this country and our state forward.
