WisDems Black Caucus Chair Statement on Wisconsin GOP Adding Racist Attacks to Their Chaos Campaign
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — In response to the Republican Party of Wisconsin purposefully using an image of David Crowley when attacking Mandela Barnes, the only two Black candidates for governor and something the Republican party of Wisconsin defended, WisDems Black Caucus Chair Nick Truog released the following statement:
“While the Republican Party promotes a bolo wearing wannabe Texan, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin has an incredible slate of candidates, with leaders like David Crowley, Francesca Hong, Mandela Barnes, and others whose lived experiences represent the struggles and hopes of Wisconsinites across the state. Each brings the kind of leadership Wisconsin needs to move forward: practical, grounded, and focused on making life better for the people who live here. So while the GOP focuses on an un-American chaos campaign that distracts from their economic failures, our candidates are focused on bringing down costs and making life better for all Wisconsinites.”
