MADISON – Wisconsin Women in Government has released the agenda for its premier professional development program, the Leadership Seminar. WWIG has also extended the deadline for applications to the two-day knowledge-building opportunity offered in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs.

Twenty-five participants will convene on the UW-Madison campus on February 25 and March 4, 2022, for full days of instruction, learning activities, and networking with other participants and area leaders. Courses will cover a broad range of issues—everything from organizational structure to gender politics to race and inequality—that will resonate with individuals working in or with government.

The small cohort ensures participants have direct access to La Follette faculty for instruction and feedback. It also enables them to actively apply course material and develop relationships with faculty and each other. Additionally, attendees will receive free admission to a WWIG networking event in 2022.

“Leadership Seminar is a unique opportunity to learn from La Follette School faculty and with other emerging leaders,” said WWIG President Amanda Graham. “We are excited to bring back this amazing program and to help women advance in their careers.”

Women who work in local, state, or federal government, as well as women who interact with the government as part of their private-sector employment, are encouraged to apply.

Applications are currently open and are due January 7, although extensions are available upon request. Participants must commit to attending both days of instruction. Tuition is $400 and includes lunch and refreshments during days of instruction. The balance of program costs not covered by tuition is funded by the WWIG Gala and through the generous support of our sponsors, including this year’s primary sponsor, the Wisconsin Counties Association.
