Wisconsin Veterans Chamber Wraps Successful 2019 with Membership Growth, Events, and Program Launches
2019 brings membership growth, events statewide and launch of Invest in Vets program
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce released today its annual report, recapping a year that saw nearly 300 businesses and nonprofit organization members with a 90% renewal rate, 25 sponsors investing in WVCC and more than 45 events, attended by thousands of veterans, service members, family members, and supporters.
“What started as a small, informal gathering has grown and expanded to a vibrant community of current service members and supporters committed to the empowerment and success of every military veteran and their family,” said Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Saul Newton.
In addition to helping veteran and military family-owned businesses, the WVCC also welcomed a full class of veteran entrepreneurs for the 2019-2020 Command Post business development program. The year-long program is designed to help military veterans launch and scale business ventures.
On top of membership growth and successful events across Wisconsin, WVCC also launched the Invest in Vets 5-Star Program to recognize companies going above and beyond to recruit, retain and support veterans. Logistics Health Incorporated (LHI) was awarded as the Chamber’s first 5- Star Certified Employer Rating.
“Being a sponsor of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber allows me to network and interact with fellow veterans as well as like-minded professional individuals,” said Jason Young, President, Price Erecting. “The Chamber has many career-focused personal and professional advancement meetings, workforce development initiatives, as well as many supplier diversity gatherings that cover many topics all geared to help businesses grow.”
