Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce Appoints Christian Thornton as the New President & CEO

MILWAUKEE, WI. – Experienced Leader Takes Helm to Drive the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce (WVCC) into a New Era of Growth and Innovation. The WVCC, pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Thornton as its new President & CEO, effective November 1, 2023. Christian Thornton brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership in the nonprofit sector.

Background Information on the New President & CEO:

Christian Thornton has worked in the global nonprofit space for the majority of his civilian career and has worked to help separating service members gain recognition for the knowledge and experience gained through military service. These efforts, programs in the form of corporate sponsorships and access to various educational resources, continue to provide support to Veterans during their transition from military to civilian life. With baccalaureate degrees from both Kings Point US Merchant Marine Academy and University of Wisconsin Stevens Point Christian brings a well rounded perspective to the role of President and CEO of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce.

Christian Thornton will be instrumental in driving the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce’s strategic vision to make Wisconsin the most Veteran friendly State possible. The Chamber will continue to host networking events and educational programming around the state but will work to make them more accessible to all business owners. Memberships within the Chamber will be streamlined and the benefits more apparent. We will continue to support Veteran-owned and Veteran-friendly businesses so that those businesses have the opportunity to succeed and grow while economic opportunity is advanced for Veterans, service members, and their families. “Veteran owned businesses have always played a crucial role in a successful and stable economy and the Chamber looks to shine a light on those businesses” – Christian.
