Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. to Host Annual Winter Concert Fundraising for Ukrainian Soldiers’ Prosthetics

SHOREWOOD, WI – Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. will host its Annual Winter Concert on Friday, January 17th, at St. Robert Roman Catholic Church in Shorewood, WI. The evening will feature a blend of traditional and contemporary Ukrainian music, with all funds raised donated to the Protez Foundation to support the cost of prosthetics for wounded Ukrainian soldiers.

“This event is not only a celebration of Ukrainian culture but also an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who are risking everything to defend Ukraine,” said Halyna Salapata, president of Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. “Helping offset the cost of their medical treatments is a small way to show our gratitude for their service.” The Ukrainian Health Ministry reports that at least 50,000 Ukrainians—both soldiers and civilians—have lost limbs due to Russia’s ongoing invasion. Depending on the type of prosthetic, the cost of each amputation treatment can reach up to $100,000.

The concert will feature prominent local Ukrainian performers, including Tatiana Migliaccio (violin and sopilka), Krystia Nora (mezzo-soprano), Irina Yanovska (guitar), Misha Litvin (mandolin), Maria Foit (piano), as well as the St. Michael’s Ukrainian Church Choir, and the Promin and Kalyna Ukrainian Dance Groups of Milwaukee.

Following the concert, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary refreshments and connect with the community.

Wisconsin Ukrainians Inc. is a grassroots, volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the focus on promoting and celebrating Ukrainian culture as well as providing support to crucial initiatives in Ukraine. Since its founding in March of 2022, Wisconsin Ukrainians Inc. has been supporting Ukrainian defenders by providing medical supplies, tactical gear, thermal wear, generators, and food supplies. Additionally, the organization assists Ukrainian refugees by sharing resources and helping with the adjustment to living in the US.
