Wisconsin Farmers Take Hit From Trade War
Historically, February into March in Wisconsin is a time of planning and planting for our farmers. It is also the time where prices for their commodities continue their rise to the midsummer peaks before the decline towards harvest.
10% may not sound like much, but apply that to your own finances. What changes would you have to make if you saw a 10% reduction in your income overnight?
Despite the claims by the president that, “Tariffs do not cause inflation, they cause success”, it is becoming clear that success for the Wisconsin farmer under Trump means less income and possibly fewer buyers for their goods.
Trade wars damage everyday Americans – the same “little guys” that Trump claims to be fighting for. Lower income and higher prices while government revenue through taxation is not what the American people voted for, but it appears that is exactly what they are going to get if the tariff battles don’t stop soon.
