Wisconsin Democrats on Spring Election Results
MADISON, Wis. — Following President Biden’s victory in the Wisconsin Democratic Presidential Primary today, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement:
“Tonight’s vote was both an affirmation of Biden and a rejection of Trump—who personally campaigned in Green Bay tonight, where he reminded voters of the threat he poses to our democracy and repeated his baseless, foul lies about his 2020 loss. Luckily, it took mere hours for Trump’s lies about Wisconsin’s elections to be rebuked—as voters elected a new, pro-democracy majority to the Green Bay City Council. Tonight’s victory in Green Bay means the people of Green Bay can come first, not Trump’s lies—and that’s a win for all of Wisconsin.”
“To all of the thousands of people who ran for office across the state, win or lose, and the more than one million voters who cast ballots tonight: participating in our democracy, no matter the outcome, makes it stronger. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin will be fighting for democracy’s cause from now through November 5, at every level of the ballot, and beyond.”
