Wisconsin Democrats Introduce Legislation For The People
Hot Topics Include Affordable Housing, Food, Healthcare
MADISON–Wisconsin Assembly and Senate Democrats introduced the “Lowering Costs, Improving Lives” package of bills today to address food, housing, and healthcare costs for Wisconsinites. Rep. Robyn Vining (D-Wauwatosa) released the following statement:
“Healthy School Meals for All ensures that every student in Wisconsin receives a nutritious breakfast and lunch, regardless of their family’s financial situation. No child should go hungry–period. This program is a win-win for students, families, schools, farmers, and our state. The Homestead Tax Credit directly supports fixed and low-income homeowners with direct property tax relief and is especially beneficial to seniors living on a fixed income. No Wisconsinite should be forced to choose between paying for groceries or housing and affording their life-saving medication. This package ensures that every Wisconsinite has the medication they need at the price they can afford.
“And–there is more work to do. We look to the East Wing as Governor Evers thoughtfully puts together his state budget proposal–a proposal that at its heart is to be designed For The People. Beyond the budget, I will continue to develop and introduce legislation aimed at improving the lives of all Wisconsinites. Forward, together.”
Rep. Vining represents the 13th Assembly District, which includes Elm Grove, and parts of Wauwatosa and Brookfield. For more information visit Rep. Vining’s website here.
