Wisconsin Artist and Concordia University Student Featured in Yearlong Exhibit
Mequon, WI— Wisconsin artist and current Concordia University student Cherie Burbach has been invited to exhibit seven pieces of her artwork in a special yearlong collection celebrating diversity and inclusion. Better Together: One Faith, Many Cultures creates a welcoming space where faith, creativity, and community meet. The exhibit highlights diverse voices and encourages thoughtful reflection. It is located just outside the Concordia University bookstore and will remain on display for one year.
“I am so humbled that my art was chosen for this exhibit,” said Burbach. “The pieces Concordia selected were inspired by the many people I encountered growing up in Milwaukee. Each one reflects elements of faith, community, and belonging.”
Burbach has been creating art since childhood, working with vibrant colors and a whimsical, expressive style that conveys a hopeful message. Her imaginative approach draws inspiration from artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Mary Cassatt, and Marc Chagall.
In addition to her artistic work, Burbach is currently pursuing a degree in Theology at Concordia University. She also serves as the Digital Editor for Just Between Us magazine, a global ministry reaching women in more than 150 countries.
Burbach is the author of dozens of books—including poetry, nonfiction, a novel, and a children’s title—and her writing has appeared in outlets such as NBC/Universal, The New York Times, and Christianity Today. She looks forward to a future where she can serve through the Lord through pastoring, art, and writing. Across every creative project, her mission is to share God’s love and remind others they are never alone.
