Racine Art Museum (RAM) in downtown Racine, Wisconsin, is thrilled to continue its collaboration with renowned art museums across the state as part of Wisconsin Art Destinations—an art museum collective that is the first of its kind in the Midwest.

Founded in 2023, Wisconsin Art Destinations is an assembly of 16 art museums working together to raise the profile of the state as a destination for the visual arts by inviting visitors and neighbors of all backgrounds, inclinations, and levels of interest in art to explore and experience Wisconsin’s art museums and surrounding areas. Three new museums joined the collective in 2024: the Charles Allis Art Museum and Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum in Milwaukee, and the Art Preserve at JMKAC.

“RAM is proud to be a part of a collective that is elevating and investing in the power of art, all while encouraging visitors to experience all that Wisconsin has to offer in the way of art and culture,” says RAM Executive Director and Curator of Collections Bruce W. Pepich. Located among Wisconsin’s vibrant and charming communities, each of the Wisconsin Art Destinations museums capture the state’s unmatched culture of fierce independence and originality through exceptionally curated and immersive art experiences. Devoted to igniting a sense of discovery within each visitor, the goal of the collective is to increase attendance across all of the art museums while highlighting the individuality and uniqueness each brings—encouraging visits to multiple art museums during one trip.

New in 2024, the collective has unveiled three new custom travel itineraries to help visitors find inspiration for their journey. Arranged in manageable weekend trips that hit multiple art destinations and provide recommendations for nearby complementary activities, dining, and lodging, the itineraries chart exciting paths for exploring the vibrant communities of Wisconsin.

One such weekend itinerary begins with a visit to RAM and recommends lunch at one of two Downtown Racine favorites, including Reefpoint Brewhouse or Marguerite at Hotel Verdant—an upscale hotel featuring local art curated by RAM and arts advocacy group ArtRoot—before continuing onto Milwaukee and Madison to visit their plentiful museums and artistic spaces.

Wisconsin Art Destinations is comprised of the following art museums: Art Preserve of the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass in Neenah; Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee, Chazen Museum of Art in Madison; Haggerty Museum of Art in Milwaukee; John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan; Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau; Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison; Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay; Milwaukee Art Museum in Milwaukee; Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend; Paine Art Center and Gardens in Oshkosh; Racine Art Museum in Racine; Rahr-West Art Museum in Manitowoc; and Trout Museum of Art in Appleton, Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum in Milwaukee.
