MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers are well-positioned at the first 2024 MLB All-Star voting update, as catcher William Contreras and outfielder Christian Yelich currently sit in finalist positions, and third baseman Joey Ortiz is in a close race to make the finals.

The top two players at each infield position and catcher, the top two designated hitters and the top six outfielders in each league will advance to the finals at the end of the first phase of voting on Thursday, June 27 at 11 a.m. CT. The top vote-getter in each league will automatically earn a starting spot.

Contreras leads National League catchers with 746,461 votes, ahead of J.T. Realmuto (558,624) of the Phillies and Will Smith (557,970) of the Dodgers.

Yelich sits in second place among National League outfielders with 821,037 votes, behind only Jurickson Profar (900,541) of the Padres. He is directly ahead of Fernando Tatis Jr. (798,609) of the Padres and Teoscar Hernández (761,934) of the Dodgers. The last finalist spot among National League outfielders is held by Nick Castellanos (439,764) of the Phillies just ahead of teammate Johan Rojas (363,047).

With 244,957 votes, Ortiz is only 22,000 votes behind Manny Machado (267,063) of the Padres for the second-finalist spot at third base in the National League. Alec Bohm (1,012,174) of the Phillies leads the voting at the position.

The Brewers have four other players in the top 10 at their positions, including designated hitter Rhys Hoskins (4th), shortstop Willy Adames (5th), second baseman Brice Turang (6th) and first baseman Jake Bauers (9th).

Fans can continue to submit up to five ballots per day during the first phase at MLB.com/vote, brewers.com/Allstar or on the MLB app. An additional voting update for phase one will be provided on Monday, June 24.

Results from the first phase of voting will be announced Thursday, June 27 at 5 p.m. CT on MLB Network.
