WBB Travels to Xavier Wednesday Night
Golden Eagles and Musketeers tipoff at 6 p.m. ET at Cintas Center
The Marquette University women’s basketball team travels to Xavier on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. CT. The BIG EAST Digital Network on FloCollege features the broadcast with Mike Schmaltz (play-by-play) and Rich Hidy (analyst) on the call.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST XAVIER
• Marquette and Xavier are meeting for the 31st time on Wednesday.
• Marquette leads the all-time series, 23-7 and have won the last 16 meetings, the longest win streak over a BIG EAST opponent.
• Both wins last season came by an average of 27.5 points.
FORBES EARNS FOURTH WEEKLY HONOR ROLL SELECTION
• Skylar Forbes earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
• Forbes averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks over Marquette’s two wins last week.
• The Markham, Ontario native had a game-high 23 points in a road win at Providence on Wednesday, Jan. 22. She followed that up with an 18-point performance against Georgetown on Saturday, Jan. 25 with a career-high five assists and four blocks.
• Forbes shot 59.1 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from three during the week while going 100 percent from the free throw line (11-for-11).
VOLKER, FORBES & VICE COMBINE FOR 57 POINTS IN GEORGETOWN WIN
• Lee Volker (20), Halle Vice (19) and Skylar Forbes (18) accounted for 76 percent of Marquette’s scoring in the 75-58 win over Georgetown on Saturday.
• Forbes and Vice had 13 points each at halftime, while 13 of her 19 points in the second half.
MARQUETTE SHOOTS 55 PERCENT IN WIN AGAINST GEORGETOWN
• The Golden Eagles had their second-highest field goal percentage of the season on Saturday after shooting 55.1 percent from the floor in the 75-58 win vs Georgetown.
• It was the fourth time this season MU shot 50-percent-or-better from the floor.
• Marquette had its best shooting percentages of the season in the first quarter (75.0 percent) and third quarter (72.7 percent).
