Walgreens at 5201 N. 91st St. to Close December 3rd – Residents Encouraged to Seek Pharmacy Alternatives

Statement from Alderman Lamont Westmoreland November 11, 2024

By - Nov 11th, 2024 04:23 pm

The recent trend of Walgreens closures nationwide continues, with the next local closure occurring at 5201 N. 91st St. This location is scheduled to close by December 3rd, and will impact residents’ access to prescriptions, healthcare services, and essential items, so early planning is recommended.

[inarticled]Now is the time to connect with your healthcare team to seek alternative pharmacy options – whether that means transferring prescriptions to another Walgreens location, or exploring non-Walgreens pharmacies nearby.

As your Alderman, I am actively working to bring additional pharmacy options to our area to meet the community’s needs and ensure everyone has access to the medications and healthcare resources they rely on.

For questions or assistance in navigating this change, please feel free to contact my office. Let’s work together to ensure our community remains healthy, informed, and prepared during this transition.
