Voces De La Frontera Action Proudly Endorses Francesca Hong for Governor of Wisconsin in the Democratic Primary
(Milwaukee, Wisconsin, July 23rd) — Following a meeting of our leadership and after consulting with people across Wisconsin, Voces de la Frontera Action is proud to endorse Francesca Hong for Governor of Wisconsin in the Democratic primary. This endorsement reflects the priorities and aspirations of the people we represent and our responsibility as a grassroots organization to support leaders who have consistently stood with working families and immigrant communities.
We also want to reaffirm our commitment to working with whoever is elected as the Democratic nominee. The major contenders in this race have been important allies to our movement. Each has stood with immigrant communities during pivotal moments, defended our rights, and demonstrated a genuine commitment to moving Wisconsin forward. We have worked with them and know they each possess the leadership and vision to serve our state.
Our endorsement of Francesca Hong is not a rejection of those allies. Rather, it is a recognition of this political moment and of the leadership we believe Wisconsin needs to meet it.
For years, Francesca has been a trusted partner who has never hesitated to stand publicly for immigrant communities, even when doing so offered no political advantage for herself. She has consistently defended the dignity of the people we organize alongside, stood with essential workers, and helped us achieve meaningful victories. She has earned our trust not only through her words, but through her actions.
This election represents a turning point for Wisconsin’s progressive movement. At a time when working families face growing economic insecurity, immigrant communities are under relentless attack, and democracy itself demands courageous leadership, we believe it is essential to stand unapologetically with leaders who are deeply rooted in our communities.
As the daughter of immigrants, Francesca understands firsthand the hopes and sacrifices that define so many Wisconsin families. Throughout this campaign, she has demonstrated the energy to organize, the determination to mobilize, and, perhaps most importantly, the willingness to listen. She has shown that leadership begins by representing working people, not powerful interests.
This is not the time for cautious politics. It is a time for bold ideas, ambitious solutions, and the courage to build a Wisconsin where working families can thrive. A Wisconsin where immigrants, Black and Brown communities, LGBTQ+ people, and every working person can believe once again that a better future is possible. A Wisconsin where the interests of billionaires and large corporations no longer outweigh the needs of workers, families, affordable housing, public education, healthcare, and a healthy, thriving environment.
As an organization rooted in community organizing, we are committed to representing the will of the people we serve, not the calculations of traditional politics. We believe movements change history by supporting leaders who are willing to organize alongside us, fight with us, and remain accountable to the people they represent.
