Visit the North Point Lighthouse in August!

The North Point Lighthouse and Museum, located at 2650 N. Wahl Avenue within historic Lake Park, is a Milwaukee maritime treasure.

The North Point Lighthouse and Museum, located at 2650 N. Wahl Avenue within historic Lake Park, is a Milwaukee maritime treasure. Each year, thousands of visitors from the surrounding community, region and around the world experience its beauty, history and charm.

Built in 1888, the lighthouse tower and museum are open to the public:

  • Saturdays and Sundays 1-4 p.m. throughout the year
  • Thursdays & Fridays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until August 30
  • Full Moon Tours, Thursday August 15 from 7:30-10:30 pm

No reservations needed. Tours continue throughout the open hours.

Regular admission rates for non-members:

  • $8 Adults
  • $5 Adults 65+; $5 Children 5-18; Students
  • Free: North Point Lighthouse members; Children under 4; Veterans & Active Military

Visitors can experience a maritime museum featuring exhibits, artifacts and stories and climb the 74-ft. tower. The lighthouse is also available to rent for private events and tours. The lighthouse has been preserved and restored as a maritime museum through the efforts of the North Point Lighthouse Friends, Inc. and has been open for public tours, visits and events since 2007. The mission of the North Point Lighthouse Friends, Inc. is to preserve the North Point Light Station, inspire appreciation of its importance in Wisconsin maritime history and promote its use consistent with the character of Lake Park and the surrounding neighborhood.

Reduced Admission to Celebrate National Lighthouse Day on Sunday, August 11 only from 1-4:00 pm

National Lighthouse Day is an annual commemoration of the anniversary of the federal lighthouse establishment and a day to celebrate lighthouses and the commitment and service of those who tended America’s lights for generations.

In August 1789 that the Ninth Act of the First Congress, established federal control of lighthouses, was passed and signed by President George Washington.

Reduced admission rates for non-members on Sunday August 11 only:

  • $5 Adults
  • $3 Adults 65+; Children 5-18; Students
  • Free: North Point Lighthouse members; Children under 4; Veterans & Active Military
