Van Orden Endorses Health Care Plan That Does Not Have Protections for Wisconsinites With Preexisting Conditions

MADISON, Wis. — This morning, Derrick Van Orden announced he supports Trump’s health care plan, which does not include protections for individuals with preexisting conditions. Derrick Van Orden’s campaign website has falsely claimed he would fight to protect individuals with preexisting conditions. His announcement follows his vote against extending ACA tax credits, a move that has already driven up health care costs for Wisconsinites.

“D.C. Derrick is willing to say whatever he thinks will get him re-elected, telling people in his district one thing but then going to Washington and voting the complete opposite way, said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “D.C. Derrick’s real constituents are the Washington elite he is now giddy to call his friends and neighbors as he’s completely abandoned Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional district.”
