USCIS to Welcome 319 New US Citizens During Celebration at Holiday Folk Fair International
MILWAUKEE — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin will welcome 319 new citizens during a special naturalization ceremony Friday at the Holiday Folk Fair International. U.S. Magistrate Judge William E. Duffin will administer the Oath of Allegiance. International Institute of Wisconsin President and CEO Dr. Paul Trebian will welcome and congratulate the new citizens.
USCIS often participates in naturalization ceremonies at museums, schools and cultural events to celebrate the conclusion of an immigrant’s journey to citizenship and honor their commitment. Welcoming new citizens at large local events like the Holiday Folk Fair International not only makes these events meaningful for those who have voluntarily chosen to participate in American democracy, but also allows the community to witness a naturalization ceremony, understand more about U.S. citizenship, and welcome their new neighbors.
USCIS encourages new citizens and guests to share their naturalization ceremony experiences and photos through social media, using the hashtag #NewUSCitizen.
