MILWAUKEE- JoCasta Zamarripa, candidate for Milwaukee Common Council, today announced she’s been endorsed by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin.

“JoCasta Zamarripa has served the people of Milwaukee with courage and determination, and I have been proud to work alongside her and see her grow into a tremendous leader,” said Senator Baldwin. “She is a friend and a champion, and I know she will be a strong leader on the Milwaukee Common Council. As the first Latina in the state legislature and as an openly LGBT elected official, JoCasta has been a trailblazer. Milwaukee needs leaders like her and I’m giving her my full support.”

“I’m honored to have Senator Baldwin’s trust and support in this race,” said JoCasta Zamarripa. “She’s a true fighter in the Senate who always puts Wisconsin first.

“I’m ready to step up and fight for a strong and safe Milwaukee and be the fighter the 8th District deserves,” continued Zamarripa. “From attracting new business to the district to making sure our city services are working for everyone, it’s time to move our city and district forward.”

State Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa announced last month she’s filed to run for 8th District Alderwoman in the City of Milwaukee in April of 2020. Zamarripa has represented the near south side of Milwaukee in the State Assembly for nine years.
